Ithica NID stock
I'm in the process of removing the stock on an Ithaca NID project gun to do a little stock work. I've never owned an Ithaca before so dismantling it is different for me. Does anyone know if you have to remove the bottom rear pin on the receiver to get the trigger plate to drop down and allow the stock to come away from receiver? Seems to be hung up at the moment and I've removed all the normal screws.
Thanks, Carl |
No. That holds the sears in and on an NID the sears do not have to be removed to pull the action from the stock.
Remove the 4 screws, pull trigger plate. Dont loose the trip spring. Remove action from stock. |
Brian, I think it's a NID, the serial # is 434XXX, and has cocking indicators and Anson and Deeley forend latch. Does that sound right?
Thanks for the info on the disassembly. |
If the serial # is over 400,000 it's an NID.

Yes. NId. Only those had cocking indicators and deely latch. The early ones at least.

Brian, I did get the trigger plate off and the receiver free from the stock. However the trip Spring did jump out as I pulled the trigger plate free. Can you tell me where it goes?
Thanks, Carl |
Under the trip.
