when were the single barrel traps made?

HI,
WHEN WERE THE SINGLE BARREL TRAP GUNS MADE?
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT GRADE YOUR GUN IS ?
MY SER. NUMBER IS 177512
JUST JOINED SITE AND ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT-THANKS

Bill Murphy 06-30-2009 09:39 PM

Your gun is one of the first made in 1917. They were made until the end of Parker-Remington production in about 1942. The grade should be stamped on the action flat visible when the barrel is removed. It may say 4 or C if it is a C Grade. 5 is B Grade, 6 is A Grade, 7 is AA Grade.

177318 is listed as the first single trap gun made in 1917. Please reregister with your real name.

HOW DO I USE REAL NAME?

Dave Suponski 06-30-2009 10:18 PM

Actually I just checked the "Serialization Book and 158108 is the earliest listed SC grade gun. The number 177318 I pulled from "The Parker Story" my mistake.

Either post it in your next post - or private message me, and I'll get your login/screen name set.

Best to you,

John

The lowest number singles that seem to be production guns are listed in the Serialization Book in the low 176,000 range. I don't know how the compilers of the information in the book came up with numbers in that serial number range since the pertinent stock books seem to be among the missing.

Didn't the older ones have a outside access to the firing pin?
