Playing around with metal sculpting

4 Attachment(s)
The beginnings of an A-1 Special upgrade starting with a 12g 1-1/2 frame GHE.

Triple fences added to the standard frame. First bead was added with weld. The other two are chiseled and filed in from the existing breech ball metal.

I hope you continue to post progress pics. It would be nice to follow your work.

Are you going to try your hand at engraving, or will it go to Geoffroy?

I do what i can and leave the rest to others who know better. Engraving is one of those.

Are you going to stop with the three beads or try for the fourth that ends in a pigtail below the flutes? I think I like the three over the more complicated one.

Brian Dudley 01-25-2017 09:09 AM

No additonal beads. That later style of A1 embellishment is ok and all, but it is a little much I think.
