Posting pix videos kaput

Why won't either of the instructional videos for posting/resizing pictures to the BB site under FAQs work/play?? Have tried off & on for several days now with no results. Clicking on either one takes you to a blank (video?) screen, then nothing happens.

I don't know? I looked at the underlying html file and everything looks unchanged but the .avi files it uses will not run for me either. Something must have changed in the server software or both our browsers are broken and will not run them. But, they don't run when I try to run them directly either.:banghead:

Sorry, I can't help on this one?:cuss: I don't have access (nor want it) to the server system, so this is beyond my pay grade.

OK, now we know that "How do we Post Pictures?" is a scam question. Just joking, of course. It's the answer that is a scam. Again, just joking, of course. Would anyone like to come to the Murphy house for Thanksgiving dinner and show me how to do these things?

Thanks for trying anyway, Robin. Seems like another computer 'gremlin'

I got the second one to play, but not the first, in IE11. If you have the Edge browser I would doubt they will work since activeX controls are no longer supported with MS Edge. ActiveX is also not supported with IE11 unless you use compatibility mode. It will also not play for Chrome or Firefox since they do not support activeX.

It might be better if it was converted from AVI to MP4 format and an HTML 5 player added with flash player fall back for earlier browsers. I think this is a John task to sort out.

Another "just joking" Bill?

Seriously though, I would love to come to the Murphy house anytime to show 'Brother Bill' how to post pictures of all his fabulous guns.

.....Seriously!

Absolutely nothing changed in the server software. To be honest? They never played for me unless I opened the original .avi file naively. I suspect they probably worked under Internet Explorer, which worked for many, at one time or another.

You are correct Eric:shock: Great catch!

I changed the way these files are uploaded and they should now work (much faster to load too).

Hopefully there will be no more problems:banghead:
