A 16ga VH question...
Sirs, looking to learn.
Serial # 209334 http://www.gunauction.com/buy/14094332 I looked on the main page and letter isn't even available. According to TPS p.258, 8842 had this configuration. What makes this one so special? |
Who is saying it is "so special " ? The seller doesn't.
Seems like a nice condition gun in a desirable gauge and configuration and the auction found a fair price for it . It's possible it could have brought more. |
The seller wouldn't have been out of line if he called it 'high condition'.
|
Special was my word. A better word might have been what was used in the first reply 'desirable.' Thanks.

"Crispy" would be my terminology if the colors are original. Someone got a nice gun if everything is as it appears. There is no provenance information on post-1920 guns. Basic specs is all you will get. Unfortunately, this gun has none. I would buy it based on what I see.

If you look at the bidding history, the eventual buyer jumped in about 3 hours before the auction ended at $1642. He was determined to win the gun and went head to head with another bidder who entered the race even later. So you had a two man race at the end and pushed the gun to its eventual selling price. Strictly auction dynamics at work. No mystery here!

Maybe Brian will get to fix the crack in the wrist.

Wish every seller went to the trouble of providing such a complete and thorough description. Nice gun, honest wear, great gauge, fair price, happy ending.
|
So, which is it, 30" or 28"? It's described as both. Looks like a very nice gun.
|
That's a good catch! 28" or 30"? I was going by the main description. I would hope for the 28" but that's just me.
