Brian Dudley's work

We've all seen those guns laying on a table at a gun show and wondered how did it get that way and how could it be made right. Last December two laid together, a 12 gauge and a 16 gauge with 30" bbls on an O frame (which was advertised as a 20 gauge). Both were VH grade and beat up. But they were priced at a point to good to pass up. I asked Brian Dudley to put the 16 gauge into huntable condition and when I opened the box today I was blown away. No, it's not a total resto but what he did to the woodwork made me extremely happy. I know he is very good at his craft and this job just reconfirmed it. I'm going to take it hunting on an upcoming trip to Montana for my next installment of the Parker Chrinicles. I'll be taking some pics and let you guys know how she shoots with those 30" bbls. PS.... Due to a heavy storm I can't post pics right now.

Brian has done a number of projects for myself and friends with excellent results. His backlog has lengthened which is a reflection of his success. It is nice to see a young man seceded in his chosen craft.

That would be 'succeed'.

This is all I can provide. Pictures of the original wood. A buttstock that was split in the head, oil soaked, cracked and nailed. And a forend that looked like it was chewed by a dog.

I provided a nice cleaned up replacement forend wood. And fitted up/refinished another O frame buttstock that Mike provided me with.

As my friend, Tom would say. "Looks like enough to keep you warm for 15 minutes on a cold winter night!"

As anyone who knows will will tell you, I've got more gunsmith horror stories than anybody I know.

Since Russ Bickel died, I've really had a bad run, that's till I got together with Brian. He's done absolutely stellar work. I've got something I need to send him right now!

I can attest to Brian's work. About a year and a half ago I sent him a 16 Ga VH on a 0 frame that had definitely seen better days. He fixed the cracked head of the stock, and put a very nice "hunters" finish on the stock. Did not look new, but I did not want it to. I was more than pleased. Thanks Brian, Steve
