Marking on barrel flats

I have 12 ga V ejector with 26" barrels, with miller trigger and beavertail forearm. Barrels have the appropriate factory beavertail fore end loop. They are marked 3lb 8oz, near the V in circle they have HT stamped over A in small capital letters. Any idea what HT over capital A indicates?

Thanks

Chris

It's commonly believed that the HT = Heat treat the A=Annealed. I don't believe anyone knows for sure.

My take is if this is what it stands for. It is a process of warming the barrels to a specific temperature & then letting them slowly cool to stress relieve them from the manufacturing process.

Thanks for the response, makes sense.

Chris, that is a nice gun but a letter is the only way you are going to know about the extras that are not shown in the book as original. The book may be way off as it does not even show it having ejectors.
