Parker DVD?
 

I was searching around on the internet and saw an old ad for "The Parker Story" but with it was also a listing for a DVD - "Parkers At The End Of The Rainbow".

I don't remember seeing this before? Can anyone give a review of this DVD?

Robin, it was compiled by Hershel Chaddick of some of his own guns, some that he had bought and sold and some guns belonging to others, as I recall. I don't own the DVD but will likely buy it soon through Daniel Cote. It has been available for a few years.

I have the DVD ,My Wife bought it for me for a Christmas Gift shortly after the release ! I have watched it more than a few times ! There are quite a few Beautiful Parker's to be seen including some Beautiful High Grade guns ,some 410 Bores and a few 28 Gauges made their way into the movie ! I am sure some of our members knew who all is at the " Cottage " during the filming but I did not ,I wish the participants would have been properly introduced ,this is the only down side I could say about it and I suspect the reason they were not introduced is some did not want it out there who actually owned some of these rare Parker Guns and where they are located ! I enjoyed the discussions between the Gentlemen about the guns very much during the movie ,you sort of get an inside look at what appealed to Hershel as far as his opinion of what a Good Gun should be !

I have an article called "Parkers at the end of the Rainbow". It was written by Daniel Philip Cote and photography was done by Terry Allen and Captions by Herschel Chadick. It is in the Double Gun Journal, Vol. 18, Issue 3, Autumn 2007. Mr. Chadwick was a guest at the Flint Rainbow Club in Michigan and narrated the article. It features numerous photos of all gauges of A1 Specials, five guns, Ser # 180178 is in 28 and .410 in a two barrel set. A matched pair of 20 ga. is Ser # 241449 and 241450, Ser # 234200 is the Max Fleischman 28 gauge, decorated in floral gold inlays. At the end of the article it said a limited number of "movies" of the event would be available to DGJ subscribers by calling 800-447-1658. Maybe you could try the # or call Double Gun Journal and see if it is the same and still available or get a back copy of that edition of DGJ, the photos are great.

Just wondering - where is the Flint Rainbow Club in Michigan ?

Sorry, the only thing the article says is that the club is on the fabled Pere Marquette River.

A google search says Baldwin, Mi.

If you want to view rare high condition Parkers while Hershel shares his opinions and preferences you will receive your moneys worth. If you are expecting an addendum to The Parker Story, I suspect you will be disappointed.
