Successful stock head repair

Stock head had started to split on my project Parker. Hadn't done a repair like this. Located the tutorial here on how to do it correctly and thought I'd give it a try.

7 day acetone soak.
Titebond Wood CA down the length of the crack, and clamped the stock to close the crack.
Fashioned a staple from a stainless steel cotter pin.
Cut a channel with a Dremel cut-off wheel, and drilled the holes for the staple legs.
Filled the channel and holes with tinted Acraglass Gel.
Degreased the staple and gently tapped it into place.
Cure and then remove the excess epoxy.

That was fun!

Thats the way to do it. It is always good to be able to do this type of repair before someone has put a bolt in the head.

Yes Sir. You had told me not to put a bolt through the head. Very glad to have experience with this repair technique now.
