How can I tell the choke
Well I've looked through the discussions and haven't found anything on how to tell what choke your barrels are. Is there a set measurement? A certain mark?
|
There is no mark, or choke designation. What you need to do is invest $100 in a Skeets Bore gauge from Midway, or find someone who has one, and measure your bores and chokes. If you have a 12 the bore will probably be .733". About 3" +/- from the muzzle the bore will begin to constrict to around .700" at the muzzle. If this be the case you have .033" of constriction, or full choke. .020" is modified and .010" is imp. cyl., generally speaking. There's lots in between too.

Phillip,
Your profile doesn't list a location. I'm in SE Michigan and can measure 12, 16, and 20 bore diameters and choke constrictions. If you are close let me know. I will also be at the Yooper and will bring these gauges "for just such an emergency"! Mark |

Mark, If your bringing you're bore gauge to the Yooper, I won't bring mine. See Ya There. :) |
Dave,
I'm going to bring all my toys, choke gauges, barrel thickness gauge, dent remover... I just love playing with my toys! Mark |
