20 gauge repo

how would one go about finding the date of manufacture of a Repo, I just bought.

I'd recommend you send a PM to Rich Anderson and ask him, he'll know. He's the resident repo authority around here.

Hi Ron...This is what I have learned and is not backed by provable facts as any info on the repro's is open for discussion. The DHE 20 gauge guns started with 5 prototypes and then 25 friends and family guns. Then the regular serial numbers are 20-00000 I have never found a repro over 5 digits following the Gauge. I would guestamate that about 1500 to 2000 guns in 20ga. were built in the first 12 months of production. 1985-86 Maybe your gun fits into that SN range? thanks all SXS Ohio

Serial number of a rePro

Ronald Moore, I can give you the dates of when your Reproduction was built, but as far as a date for a REPO you have to talk to the repoman and I'm not sure you will get the gun back LOL. A Common mistake and it is like fingernails on a chalk board when I hear folks calling the Parker Reproduction a REPO. If we must abreviate please call them REPRO's. Just my speal today LOL and send me the serial number and I will see when it was made Thanks folks. E mail is rskeuse@reagentchemical.com.

Richard: thanks for correcting my bad grammar, My serial number is 20-2286, DHE 20 gauge, straight grip, splinter forend. I would like to thank you for your help, you really made some great guns nd we all are proud to own them.

Thanks again

Sorry for my ignorance; I don't keep up with all the postings.

Is Rich Anderson an 'authority' or a 'tool' ?

Dean Romig 04-12-2016 06:32 AM

Neither,.... Greg Baehman or Kenny Graft know quite a lot about the Parker Reproduction by Winchester but Richard Skeuse is the guru on Reproductions as his Dad, then owner of Reagent Chemical, Tom Skeuse, created them.

(Thanks Greg ;))

I am neither one :nono: Don't PM me I don't own a repro anymore and haven't for decades. There nice guns but I don't know any more than that.
