Identifying the Frame Size
 

I recently inherited a 1902 Parker with a broken stock. I have read in these threads that the frame size is identified on the bottom of the barrels by the latch mechanism. The stamping on my gun doesn't match what I have seen posted, can anyone determine the frame size of my gun from these two pictures? I want to try and buy a used replacement stock for the gun as it's only a field grade (I think) with plenty of use on it. Thanks for any responses! Len B.

Your frame size is a number 2.

Be aware that the interchangability from one used stock to another can be dicey at times.

Dimensionally, a stock for a 1-1/2 or a 2 frame will work for you. But again, hand fitted guns means a lot of varation from gun to gun.

Don't throw away the old stock just yet, as it may be salvageable. You would be surprised what some Parker gunsmiths can do in regards to fixing old stocks.

If you posted some more pictures, you might get some more helpful advice
