Whatever happened to the "new Parker Bros."?
I remember a few years ago that there was a start up company named of all things, Parker Bros. located in Meriden Connecticut and were taking orders for their new over and under shotgun. I expected to read about name infringements made by Remington but I never did.
For some unknown reason I thought of them today and wondered about them, so I used google and was surprised that it didn't find anything on them! Did they get crushed by Remington or did their "name game" simply backfire on them. I assume they are no more? Anybody remember them and know what became of them? Just currious but I can't say why |
I'm following my mother's advise.

Robin,I too have also wondered from time to time about the outcome of this venture. When they were first starting up I know they inquired about buying the old Parker Bros. office building in Meriden. It,s no easy task to startup a gun co.And building an o/u is expensive.I think the fact that Galazan is already tooled up and has his talent in place is what makes him a viable entity and oh ya....money.I have never even seen a finished "Parker Bros.Makers" gun. Has anyone?

I have handled one - a twelve gauge - at either Pintail Point or Hausman's last year or the year before.
I wasn't impressed with it at all but then . . . I'm not an O/U fan. |

Kevin McCormack and I examined and shot the finished prototype at the Vintagers in Millbrook. Though they have a website, I have not seen one of the guns for sale or being shot since then.

I saw them at Pintail Point two years ago and the only thing "Parker" about them, as far as I'm concerned, was the front hinge pin. They were also real expensive, as in 5-figure expensive.

Bruce knows all but tells nothing, that's unusual for him. Usually it's the other way around.

I'm taking Bruce's response as "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
At least, that's what my mother taught me. |
My mother was always more for the "if you can't say something nice about somebody come sit next to me" philosophy.
