Stock bending question

Hi
I have a few old guns with the typical 3 1/2 inch drop , I find it very difficult to shoot with consistancy.
Can a stock be bent up to raise the comb ?
I am looking to raise it at least an inch, I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. I have a pretty good idea of how I want to do it, but it seems an inch is an awful lot. I fear it may ruin the stock or just as bad it would look rediculas. Maybe I'm over thinking this , just wondering if others have been there
Thanks for any advice, Tom

An inch is a lot. I doubt you would have much luck getting good results. Especially in a first time do it yourself scenario, which it sounds like that is what you are talking about.

Also, if you were to get the wood to move that much, you likely will end up with a pitch on the butt that is not shootable.

I would try one of the slip on comb riser.

i would think attempting an inch of movement will risk breaking the wood, and even if you didn't, the odds are much of that will slowly go back to its old position.

some members here recommended these to replace a taped on home made pad

i like them- and have them on my dog leg stocks- for the really low ones I use double stick tape to keep a strip or two of thick leather under them

and they come off with any damage to an old finish

Thanks guys
Sounds like the odds of bending it successfully are not good.
I'll go with the slip on comb.

Bending stock and bending stock is not a same considering the edge of your parker and its wood fibers. I will go safe way and have new stock made and implement experimental fit process during making it.
