Worth a shot
Posted this elsewhere but maybe someone here might have such a thing. Looking for a nice picture of a ejector forearm for a Fox small bore with the snap on forearm. Either an A or B grade model. Only the first few hundred small graded guns had the snap on forearm and most of those weren't ejector models, but one can dream someone might have one stuck in a safe somewhere. PM or post would be fine. PS. I've come across C, D and X, but nothing in a grade A or B, which is what I'm looking for. Thanks mucho.

Tom,
Contact Wayne Goerres here on the forum. Or he may see this and chime in. I am pretty sure he has an AE grade 20g with a snap on forend. |
And Brian would be correct. Give me a little time and I will take a picture for you.

Would be super indeed. Thanks much. Regards, Tom |
The snap-on/-off forearms either the Fox & Kremer or the F.T. Russell Patents seem to have remained in use through at least the first 600 20-gauges and at least the first 500 16-gauges, well into the Gough style engraving on the A-/AE- and B-/BE-Grades. I have recorded a couple of very early 20-gauges with Deeley lever forearms. I too have pictures of CE-, XE- and DE-grade escutcheons in smallbore forearms, but don't have an AE- or BE-Grade either early or Gough style.

In Tom Kidd's article in the DGJ Vol. 1 Issue 2 pgs. 83 & 84 pics of the thirtienth 20-ga. BE produced are shown. It has a snap-on forend, but the escutcheon engraving is hard to make out.

I to have two sets of barrels but Brian and I added the second set. It is an extractor set and a slight modification to the second forearm had to be made. The extractor barrels work perfectly.
