W & C Scott
Hi,
I have recently acquired a W & C Scott SXS Ser # 61606 and would like to know when it was made. It has the crossed swords Birmingham date of proof mark and the date may be 30 (1930) but I am uncertain of the 3. It is stamped Nitro Proof. Does anyone know if this ser. # could be as late as 1930? Preston:
The number chart in Nigel Brown's British Gunmakers place that gun between 1899 and 1900. So, probably made in 1899. |
Looks like 1899 according to my WC Scott book, by JA Crawford.

How about some pictures?

Thanks for the info. I am doing some restoration work and will post pictures as soon as I
have the gun back together. Regards Preston Chaney |
