Reload Nebraska

On May 13 Charlie Herzog and I went to a facility along the Platte River in Nebraska to participate in a Pheasants Forever program, Reload Nebraska, to add 3 million acres of game bird habitat. We shot all the latest shotguns lent by Cabelas (its CEO is a PGCA life member) and exhibited the AAHE 28 being currently made by Remington/Galazan. We provided a DHE 20/32" for anybody to shoot who desired.

A great time and a great program, which will be in full force by next Pheasant Fest in Omaha in January. Pictures follow of the shooting/hunting lodge owned by a trucking company and some of the five stand area. The lodge was the ultimate man cave, complete with indoor pistol range and gun collection including a four digit Parker lifter. Some shooters were familiar with Parkers, others were not. Our goal was to spread Parker/PGCA influence and partner with high end organizations that make a difference. Cabelas, Federal, Remington and others are all Pheasants Forever partnering/sponsoring organizations.

And Charlie by the Remington/Galazan/Parker AAHE 28/28. Its the same one that was written about and photographed in the PP's about 5-6 years ago. I think it will be shown in the Pheasants Forever magazine, as will other photos of the gathering.

A great gun and available on order to the purchaser's specifications.

On behalf of the Board of Directors I want to thank our ambassadors, Bruce Day and Charlie Herzog, for representing the PGCA at this event. How many raffle tickets did y'all sell?

Bruce Day 05-15-2010 09:15 AM

John, there was a lot of interest in the new little 28ga so we committed the PGCA to buy one at 50k and raffle it off. A few events such as this one and we limit the chance to 100 tickets at $1000 apiece and that would take care of it. A one in one hundred chance and write the grand off as a charitable deduction, run it through the foundation, and use the money to promote youth sports and hunting opportunities.

Bruce,

That is a wonderful idea. I would be out of the hunt as my pocket isn't that deep, but I bet you could find a hundred who could step up. Oh, I'm still up for adoption.
