Parker Repro Frame Sizes

This has probably been discussed, but I couldn't find any information in a search. Apologies if I am repeating previous discussions. So, here is my question:

I know that frame size is typically stamped on the rear barrel lump on Parkers and Repros. I have a 28 g Repro that has "F" stamped on the rear barrel lump where it should say 00 or perhaps 0. The forward barrel lump has an "I" stamped on it.

Does anyone know what these markings mean? Do I have a true 00 frame? Thanks!

Measure the distance between firing pin centers. Probably variations of original Parker Bros. frame sizes.

I know I've seen it somewhere on this forum... Is there a conversion table for frame size and distance between the firing pins?

Still curious what the "F" represents. I thought I read something about early Repros being stamped incorrectly based on wrong information translated from an original, the mistake was caught and corrected? I can't remember the article I read that in and cannot find it now.

In regards to the "F" and "I" stamped on the barrel lugs go here and pay particular attention to Richard Skeuse's response:

In regards to Parker frame sizes go to the PGCA Home page. In the left hand margin click on "Technical Information", a new page comes up, then click on "Frame Sizes by Gauge", the chart contains the info you're looking for.

Greg, thank you! My 28 is marked identically to the pictures in that thread. This helps me clear that up. Thanks for navigating me to the technical info link too. I knew someone here would have answers for me. This is a fantastic resource and a great group of folks!
