Early Lifter 10-Gauge Frame sizes?
My 1875 SN 4346 $150 grade is not marked for frame size lor note on Factory letter.Did they come in frame sizes smaller than #2?
If so, I would love to add a second set of 12-Gauge barrels to the gun. #1 frame orphaned 12-ga barrels seem plentiful. Not sure how to tell without specific measurements and both receiver and barrels in hand. #1-1/2 are seen seldom around my gun show and shop haunts. Any input would be much appreciated. -KL |
if it is not marked-
you cannot tell without specific measurements of the frame |
1 1/2 frame size was only used on hammerless Parkers.
You can determine the frame size by measuring the exact distance between the firing pins but unless the barrel lug is stamped with the frame size there is no way of knowing the frame size for a orphaned set of barrels. . |
I may be wrong, but I thought early lifters do not always conform to later standard pin spacings. I have a 12ga lifter in the 11000 range that measures smaller than a 1 frame.

You're right. I wasn't aware it applied to guns as late as yours. . |
