Hey guys(and gals). Been lurking for quite some time-which seems to be a common thread.

Inherited Parkers from both my Dad and Uncle. Shot my first grouse on the wing with my grandfather's 16ga VH. It was the first retrieve for my young chocolate lab, Cassie, as well. A perfect fall day I'll never forget.

Since then, I've procured a few more Parkers. I have a couple repo's. A couple Trojans, VH's and some Fox's and an LC Smith scattered in there.

Was fortunate enough to join Michael Macintosh and Silvio Calabi on two Shooting Sportsman readers and writers hunts when I was younger. Had a great time hunting Woodcock in New Brunswick and Pheasant in Dakota. That was a long time ago.

Recently received my Uncle's gun back from Steve Dalzell, who helped me finish the project that David Trevallion started. Barrels are now reblacked and she's been mechanically gone through by Steve. Beautiful gun. Someone on the forum knows her. ;-)

Finally became a member, so it's time to finally get letters for everything in the safe.

Haven't hunted much in the last 10 years or so and miss it. Time to get the reloader fired up!

It sounds like you have traveled in very good company. You're a lucky guy -

And in more ways than just a few. David Trevallion is a good friend and Steve Dalzell is an accomplished gunsmith and stock man as well. Steve sent me a couple of pictures of the finished gun and I think the way he finished it is way better than a full restoration as most of the patina and history still shows on the gun... very, very nice. I think we are talking about the same gun... 200064 if I'm correct?
I have handled (fondled) that great gun a few times while visiting with David - I'm very envious!

Dean, that's the one. I agree that it looks better than a full restoration. My Uncle was a merchant mariner. He'd always look for guns of interest wherever he was. He picked up 200064 in Hawaii. Apparently someone had used it for some type of sea bird hunting and painted the barrels with black paint in an attempt to protect them. My Uncle removed the paint, and there was very little black left.

The gun does look fantastic now. :-)
