Why do some Parkers have a spot on the rib that looks like a plug hole that has been filled in? I have seen them on damascus and fluid steel barrels, these barrels look to be refinished but I have seen them on guns with original barrel finish too.

Chris,That plug hole you speak of is the screw that holds the dolls head rib extension on.Some are visible some are not. Seems to me that I see this more often on composite barrels than on fluid steel guns.

I don't remember seeing a doll's head anchor screw visible on any set of barrels other than refinished barrels however, that's how they were originally made. The opinions of others may differ but that's been my experience.
That picture looks to depict a set of barrels refinished by Dale Edmonds. Is it?

Huh. I didn't know every set had this screw, but I could see how it would be easier to spot on a set of damascus barrels. I don't know who refinished them, the listing didn't mention.

Rib Extension Screw
 

I just looked at a dozen;reblued, original, fluid, twist, damascus; 55000 to 232000; P,V,G ,D, few show and there does not seem to be a pattern. My best guess is that occassional batches of screws did not color uniformly.
