Dhe engraving
I was looking at a new to me Remington parker this evening. It has the normal D engraving except that the pointer is on the right side of the action rather than on the left. The setter is on the left. Is this normal on Remington
guns? |
Jeff, I've seen a number of Remington era D's with the dogs switched like you describe.
. |
There were a few D's made with no animals, I have seen one.

No vignette at all Mark... just scroll?
They're out there... Stephen Cobb has a B (Grade 5) with no engraving at all... looks like a VH from a few feet away. . |
The animals were clearly missing on the one I saw, I think Gary C owned it. I don't remember the details. I had a BH that was all Scroll. There are more B's out there than other grades and I saw a good number of them in the records. They were popular around 1900. Merry Christmas

Has anyone been able to trace this style to a particular engraver |
I don't think so.
