A Fox and Remington go duck hunting

Today, 11/15, was the opening of the 2nd half of the duck season in coastal New Hampshire. Our weather has been rather mild and frankly I didn't expect much of any action on the brackish waters this morning. Scott took his 32" Fox Sterlingworth and got his first duck with it, a green head that came in at legal shooting time. Later in the morning I bagged a Canada goose and then a Black duck with my trusty Rem '94 AE 10ga. We had a visitor join us briefly, who flew over our heads at 15 feet before landing in a tree, a Great Blue Heron. We heard some distant shooting but didn't see anyone else out. This season is off to a much better start than last fall, which was the worst we have seen in 40 years of doing this around here. Maybe next time one of us will use a Parker hehe.

It is tidal water Charlie and the tide was low but incoming in that last picture. Scott and I have a running joke many years old, which is poking fun of another friend. If you look in the last photo on the left side you can see Scott's foot prints in the mud under the water. "The ducks are going to see your foot prints Scott" and they are not going to come in :rotf:

Yup, those footprints are a "dead" giveaway.:shock:

Dean we had a friend who was actually concerned about it. Which reminds me of another unforgettable moment. When we were on a guided spring snow goose hunt in upstate NY, the guide told us to be quiet or the decoying snow geese would hear us. I am sure they were going to hear us over the 2 electronic callers in the decoys and the squawking honks of dozens of them together as they came in :rotf:

You can't make this stuff up.
