Restoration
I am a hunter/shooter, not a collector/investor. I have a VH 20 ga. that I love whose finish is mostly gone from hard use by previous owner(s) and me. I've carried it afield for 30 years and and it is still mechanically sound. My son and grandson are hunter/shooters and this gun will be passed down to them, with a promise that it will never leave the family. I know it is heretical to some to talk restoration, but I'd like to refurbish it to proper Parker standards for my offspring. I am aware of DelGrego and Turnbull. Any opinions out there? Are there others I should consider?

honest wear is part of the history of the gun
but if you must- you might contact Brian Dudley - search for his posts and albums on this board to see his results - you can PM him here or go to his site http://bmdgunstocks.com/ |

From what I've seen, I vote for Dudley/Bachelder. DelGrego or Turnbull will both do a fine job, but you can almost immediately say they've handled it when looking at the finished product. The aforementioned? "Man, that gun's been taken some fine care of over the years!"

Brad B. is presently working on the resto of a very historic AH for a good friend of mine. Once completed, it will form the basis for an incredible story. Here's a sample of work so far. Judge the potential for yourself:
