Work Needed on Parker Reproduction
For the second time - this time on a different Repro - I need to have an ejector hammer replaced. This is a bit frustrating but I know why they break.... the original Parker ejector hammers have a radius cut at the 90 degree tab but the Repro hammers do not have the radius. This is where they have both broken.
So, I need to have the hammer replaced and I have seen here, posted by Richard Skeuse, the name of the person/shop who does this kind of work... Can anyone tell me who this is? . |
Dean:
The alternative is to have the broken hammer laser welded back and a proper radius cut. Tony South can do the weld easily. |
Thanks John - as a last resort I'll have it welded but the last time this happened I was able to buy an original from Lawrence Del Grego and had my gunsmith make the change. Unfortunately he didn't get the timing perfect but acceptable. I hope to have the offending hammer replaced rather than repaired.
Best, Dean . |
Chris Maest at Clay Target Sports in Princeton, NJ performed a lot of Skeuse work and barrel fitting. I have no idea whether he takes on such work now. He is a high volume Krieghoff dealer and mechanic who has take care of my Krieghoff problems in the past.

Dean, Have you considered the gent who has the ad in the Parker Pages? He was making ejector hammers and other misc. parts on a CNC mill.
|
Thanks Chris, no I haven't. I don't want to do the job myself. Ejector work on a Parker is not a job for a guy like myself who doesn't have the correct tools, spring depressors, etc. - let alone the skill and knowledge necessary to polish and fit CNC-made parts and then to properly time the ejectors.... I'll leave that to the experts.

I'm sure Al Edge of Old Dominion Firearms could weld the broken one and fit it if it comes to that.

Dean, Joe Breda is making replacement ejector hammers for repros. He posted here a while back so you should be able to do a search. I've broken two of them and finding the part is the hard part. Finding a competent gunsmith to install and time is the easy part.

Here's a link Dean.
