Short 10 Boxes

12's 16 & 20 I keep in factory boxes. 10's hard to find factory cardboard boxes and if you do they are sized for 3 1/2 Inch Shells.

MTM's SF 100 100 round shell box is only available for 12 & 20 as far as I know. However Ballistic Products listed a 10 G 50 shell insert that fits the SF 100. It's number ST-10-40

Bought a couple they work well. I guess MTM figured one tier of 3 1/2 inch 10's in the box but if you grind off the small feet bottom of the insert you can get 2 tiers of 2 7/8 inch 10's in it for 100 rounds per box.

I am going to the Southern with 4 boxes full of short 10's

I had made a plywood pattern for 2 1/2 12's boxes and planned on making one for 10's

But my wife started buying these pre made salads in snap lid containers - turns out they hold 25 short 10's perfectly

Problem solved

I have a few MTM 25 round plastic boxes that are for 10 or 12 up to 3 1/2" and I use them for my short 10's some . If I have a bunch loaded they usually end up in my green painted cardboard boxes that Brownells used to ship gun parts in I can fit 50 in one of those boxes . Or I put them in SP-10 wad bags 😉

Wad bags work for me.

You can see the cardboard box on the ground also the plastic MTM 25 round box . Brownell's used to ship gun parts in these things and we had piles of them . I think I had four or five I painted green to use in the dove field etc . Now they no longer use the boxes , something to do with UPS and shipping issues .
