LENGERKE & DETMOLD case for Parker?

I have a LENGERKE and D leg of mutton case I am considering purchasing.

I know many use Leg of Mutton cases for Parkers, but was curious if this would be correct?

It's a good price and in good shape for being made in early 1900s. Don't know much about them other then they wereally big retailer in New York.

Hello King: VonLengerke & Detmold Company was the New York Branch. VonLengerke & Antoine being the Chicago Branch. The Company was succeeded by Abercrombie & Fitch and were considered to be the top sporting retailer in the U.S.A. at that time.

A VL&D LOM case would be absolutely correct for a Parker shot gun. Though not a rare original Parker supplied case, these were often purchased with gun purchases from VL&D, VL&A or A&F. If it is in good condition, do not pass it.

I agree with Bruce.
VLD sold a LOT of Parkers.
Buy it if nice. I don't see many VLD cases come for sale- lots more VLA.
Patrick Lien is our resident expert on that subject.

Of course, now you need to buy a true VLD Parker to go in it!!

Buy a high condition case with fresh looking leather and stitching.

This is a link to the case I bought.

It looks in good shape and there is a custom boot and saddle place near me that thinks they can refinish and restore.

I remember that case. I thought the label really was a treasure. Be sure to preserve it.

Case came in today! It looks really good. Has some scuff marks, but nothing that can't be cleaned up. The label is in great shape on the end.

Has a brass oval plate that I guess could be engraved on.

The stitching all looks good.

The only "issues" are that the straps are wearing away a little bit, may just need to be oiled.

Also, would the gun be wrapped in something inside the case, or would it just rest in the case loose?

Will post pics in a bit.
