Trojan Forend

Only forends I have seen so far are the snap on type. I have not had this gun in hand but have asked if all numbers match and if the rib in fact says Trojan steel. The forend shown in pics has a latch. Were there Trojans built with a latch forend? The tip looks a bit odd. Maybe somebody did a conversion? Thoughts? Cheers, Jack

No. The wood looks to old.

Thanks. I phoned the guy and he is a little confused. Once I was able to ask direct questions, it is a well worn VH. He listed it as Trojan and even said in email that it was Trojan Steel but once we were talking and he looked a bit harder it was Vulcan steel. That explains the latch. It is pretty much a dog without even the DHBP - that has been swapped out for a Winchester plate. Barrels may be cut (27 13/16") and it isn't in the book so don't know what they should be. A project or parts gun for sure. Cheers, Jack
