Washington Grouse

Got out for a little grouse hunting with my wirehair Zu Zu I was able to get a few birds with the 1887 fishtail I recently bought from Jay Oliver off the forums.

This gun was purchased for my son Spencer but due to his busy summer as a wild land firefighter he hasn't even had time to shoot the gun so I figured I had better make sure it works ok:)

I was using some low pressure2-1/2 inch B&P # 6's for the hunt, nice mild recoil in this old gun and patterns great!

The first flock I found was about a dozen birds in a wet meadow, they flushed into the trees so I was able to get about 30 yards before they started flying off so I took one bird off a limb then got a second as it flew hard right off the hill.

Hope everyone is having a safe and productive start to hunting season.
