Gun won't reassemble

Just had some stock work done on one of my guns with the action still in place. Now the barrels will not mount because the extractors are being held in the "extract" position.

Here's the question: how do I release the extractor actuator (if that's the correct term) so I can remount the barrels?

Thanks in advance for your input.

There is nothing that should be holding the extractor in its open or "extract" position.
The screw in the bottom of the lug prevents the extractor from extending too far, but nothing at all should prevent it from sliding back in to its closed position.

Did the person who did the stock work with the "action still in place" have any reason to remove and disassemble the floor plate?
The cocking slide and associated parts can get screwed up by someone who isn't familiar with their reassembly. (words of personal experience)

If the cocking crank is not engaged with the slide, that can cause these issues.

The extractor could get hung up if the set screw is long enough and it is over tightened. Or gummed up. Either way, it should tap pack into the barrels of it is hung up.

In theory, if the action was not removed, then it should work exactly the way it did when it was sent to the person who did the work.
