Can someone explain?
To me this looks to be in the white and hand engraved? That, of course, is assuming the description indicating it has never been fired is accurate and the case colors aren't worn completely off.

I think the seller is either a thief, or is clueless! I'd be willing to bet that they never engraved any DHEs at the factory without case coloring them. It looks like someone polished off the remainder of worn case colors. In 2 of the pictures the trigger guard tang looks blued, and in 2 it looks silvery. And besides, $2,700 for an unfired 20 ga. Repro? Come on :nono:...
Richard Skeuse, care to comment? |
I think the gun has has been nickel plated....such a crime if so. It would take one hell of a polishing job to get it that "silver"
|
"Unfired" eh? And so, where is the original case?
It looks buffed to me. It's very easy to buff off that fake case color on the repros. |
That is also one funky buttstock , modest tiger stripe on one side and over the top marble cake on the other. Questionable grain flow thru the wrist.

Why is this gun so cheap.... doesn't feel right
|
I would run from that as fast as my legs could take me. IMHO the metal has been buffed to a high polish. The difference is the stock figure doesn't concern me as much as the metal does. I have seen and owned stocks that had big differences in figure from one side to another. A NIB repo 20ga is worth $5K or more easily.
