I would like to know the sellers definition of "mint".

Wood to metal fit at the action is good. And the colors are not all that bad. But that is about the end of the upsides to that one. The list of wrongs is much longer than the rights.

Interesting thing is that of you look at the photo showing the inside of the forend, at the tip of the iron, there is remnants of a threaded hole that has been exposed. Either someone tried to tap out the e d of the iron for a drawbolt, or even worse, altered an original drawbolt forend iron to make it shorter. Who the heck knows.

Well it must mean recently cured circassian marblecake walnut, and a hacksaw job on the original barrels. Makes you want to scream at potential buyers to watch out. Dont get me wrong....pretty gun for a "custom"....but to represent as "mint"!!!!!

A borderless checkering job belongs on NO classic double. Custom or not. Just my opinion.

And like I said, most all of the work looks like quality work. Just none of it is correct for the gun. Looks like a custom rifle builder did it.

Dont get me wrong, in my former life as a sxs shooter, i amassed a collection of guns of this ilk, including a 20 bore VH, w cut barrels to 27" with similar wood, and metal finish as this gun. But the misrepresentation of this gun, and SO many others, as original, pristine, disturbs me.

I guess i just am being over protective of the potential afficianados and collectors out there. My new litmus test is...if it is a "sexy" gun, and is listed for less than $25,000, an is not a AA Parker, XE Fox, etc.....RUN, dont walk away.

They sleep on their profit ! Some people will do anything for a buck. I look at gun broker and the guns international site each day. Yesterday I noticed a 16 ga that had a 150xxx number with a Remington dhbp. The stock was a replacement ( they did not tell you that ) . There is a PH listed that has having a factory straight stock. The picture shows a long tang, but reading " the Parker Story " a couple of nights ago page 265 says no straight stocks were offered in the PH grade. I was burned once. hope it does not happen again. Purchased a nice DH off of Gun Broker a few weeks ago. Looked at the pictures over and over. Check for any and all faults I could thing of. Looked the gun up in " the book " everything checked out. Very pleased with the gun. I try to learn from these site. Dan Rainey

Looks to me as if the trigger guard has been reblued on that one as well . I was kinda intrested , but it's about at the point bid wise where I loose intrest .
