SSBP

i need a little guidance, as little that I know about Parkers in general....I know even less about Parker hammerguns.

I am looking at an 1882 top lever, 12, twist barrels, just simple line engraving, no checkering on the grip, with SSBP. Is it normal-possible that the plate is correct to the gun?

A solid steel butt plate without checkered wood in the middle of it is the norm. A SSBP on a grade such as you describe is extremely uncommon.

How about a photo of the gun? Gary

General rule of thumb is that SSBP were used on grade 3 and above. But some fsctory examples of lower grades with SSBP have been seen.

I just saw an NH with SSBP at a gun show two weeks ago and regretfully didn't buy it
