Dogs n Cats

The outcome is a bit different if you own a Drahthaar. At least for the cat. Mark

Funny Tom

In our house the setters can't lay down with a cat coming over to lick their face or lay down on them

We even have a barn cat that will run in if the door is open and the older dog is there - runs right up to him and rubs his forehead on the dog's muzzle

No fear here

I second that one Mark, when the wife's cat was around old Heiko was on his best behavior, like a coiled spring ...just waiting for the command to fetch it up.They lived together for eight years, with not even a single incident (never unattended ),but his pupils would take up his whole eye when the cat was around and the nub of a tail was just a blur ...Oh ,Father just one little taste !

Daisy and the cat would have a come to Jesus meeting and the cat's meeting would be personal and up close. A 22LR works wonders as well:rolleyes:

The versatile breeds are just a wee tad different from the pointing and retrieving breeds when it comes to "Cat Fancy". Drats and GWPs are the best of the lot.

"Cat fancy" I like that Bill:)

Mark and Chris know whereof I speak. Drats and GWPs know no fear, don't recognize pain, and the "Prey Instinct" is much more prevalent than in the retrieving and pointing breeds. Most dog sellers don't advertise this trait in the versatile breeds, but it is there. My wirehair Eva has converted me to the versatile breeds. She will be 11 this November and is built like a three year old.

My GSPs have all been notorious cat killers. Wouldn't go over well with them.
