WHAT'S BEHIND THE BUTTPLATE?

For those of you who may have missed it, I left my 12 bore VH on the table at the Parker booth on Saturday along with the PGCA letter and a 1909=1910 Richland County South Carolina hunting license issued to a nine year old boy found behind the butt plate. I would like to hear from anyone here who has looked & found something interesting behind the butt plate of a Parker.

Best Regards, George

I always look but never found anything behind the butt plate on a Parker but, did find the picture of a woman circa 1900 glued to the stock under the butt plate of a 1908 proofed drilling. The last cartridge in the trap on the toe of the stock had removed her face. Would have been nice to have seen the face since her husband ? found her attractive enough to carry her that close to him.

I have a Winchester model 61 pump .22 rifle that had some interesting items in the draw bolt access hole behind the butt plate:

Two locks of very fine light brown hair and a one dollar bill, a 1936 Series silver certificate, wrapped in parts of an old newspaper. Was able to piece enough of the paper together to determine it was from the Denver Post of around 1936.

I put them back.
