My first turkey about 1986. North Central Oregon. A 1889 Remington 12 gauge loaded with 3 drahms of DuPont FFF-g and 1 1/4 oz of #5 copper plated shot in old Winchester brass cases.
My wife had just missed the big tom of the group at the barrel stretching range of 10 feet. The birds all flew off and a few minutes later they started calling to re-group. I clucked a few times and this jake ran up to about 2o yards and I started his freezer training.

We would like to start turkey hunting again but, something always comes up to keep us from it.
