Parker Bros. 14 ga ?
Hello.
I have a Parker Brother hammer double , lift lock , double hammers. Serial number. 01197. This appears to be a 14 gauge. Also, have a few all brass 14 shells as well as a dozen or so paper shells I am attempting to find some history on this. A local high profile gun shop, Jaquas , Could not find the serial in their Parker book, the book did not list this matching serial number Thanks for any info ! |
If Jaquas can't find it it probably means it isn't in the serialization book. You can put the serial number in on this website and find out if the PGCA has info on the gun. Good pics would be nice to see also
|
there are surviving records for a letter on that serial number

Be certain that number is not the order number. The serial number is stamped in the left side of the lug while the order number is stamped in the right barrel flat.
|
Jaqua staff verified the serial matching serial number. thanks
I did not ask , what price range would this be ? |
The fact that it is a 14 ga. Parker isn't really such a significant factor in the gun's value. Condition - condition - condition are the three determining factors in the case of your gun's value.

Since it is pre 1872 , over 140 years old and the only one I have seen It will stay in my collection
I do think it would be nice to show others. Most folk in my travels have never seen a 14 gauge ! The all brass shells are neat as well. Thanks, |
Small world I think someone was just talking about this gun yesterday at a gun show in New Riegel Ohio .
|
I believe you were sitting with a vendor? I did buy the 14 and 10 gauge. Still have a chance at the 410..
