Need help identifying barrels on my gun.
I have a model P double 12 ga. On the rib it has twist stamped on it. Have noticed on here that they made a twisted Damascus steel. Would like to know if that is what this is or is it a wire twist barrel? Gun was made in 1905. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Twist, Stub Twist, Plain Twist, Damascus, Laminated, Bernard are all variations of composite steel barrels used on Parker Bros. shotguns before and well into the fluid pressed steel barrel era. The patterns of the composite barrels are dependent upon the manner in which the steel rods and iron rods are stacked in bundles to be super-heated and then wound around a mandrel and hammer welded together.

This will help
http://parkerguns.org/pages/faq/DamascusTypes.htm but a full size high resolution close-up of the barrels would be even better :) Look like this? http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL.../245836442.jpg |
