Barrel work?

Need a recommendation for someone to open chokes. I have used Mike Orlen in the past and have been happy with the work but I been unable to reach him. Hoping someone can recommend someone who does good work at a reasonable price. Thanks.

On this, I can roll out the old choice: Good, Fast. Cheap. Pick one.

But if you want it done right, then the man you want is Kirk Merrington:

Thanks John. I don't know why I didn't think of KM. He has done work for me in the past.

I understand the guy at Briley who does this was trained by Merrington. No Parker's , but I have had other guns done by Briley and have been very happy with them. They don't just use a reamer rather it is done in a lathe with a mandrel so it stays in alignment with the bore. Carvel

I'll second Mike Orlen, I just got a set of barrels back from him in less than a week, as always no issues

The telephone number I have for Mike Orlen is 413-256-1630. He lives in Amherst MA.

Do these preferred smiths perform the choke cutting from the breach as Parker and other early makers did? Bob

Mike Orlen cuts the chokes correctly.

You live in Michigan. Why not have Bachelder do it ?
