Parker Friendly Shells and Non Tox
Shooters of Parkers and similar guns may be interested:
We were contacted by representatives of two major US manufacturers of shot shells. Their product managers asked what was appropriate for non tox tungsten based shot shells for old Parkers, Smiths, Foxes etc. Discussion followed including showing Parker shell load tables for all gauges. Companies are gearing up for increased sales of tungsten based non tox shells. With steel, the only way to increase momentum to lead like numbers is to increase speed. Velocity increases with steel have caused reports of barrel bursting about 4-8 inches before the muzzle. Retail costs for shells from one major maker will likely be around $1.50 /each cartridge for 1 1/8 at 3 or 3 1/4 dre loads. |
When did this occur Bruce?
