What barrels fit top lever hammer?
 

Looking for a seond set of barrels (tighter chokes) for my 1887 s/n 49xxx top lever #1 frame hammer. Am I limited to just hammer barrels of the same frame size or will non-ejector hammerless #1 barrels fit too? Are there any options to fit other barrels?

I know you need to stay with in frame size

and i do believe you need to stay with in the hammer style as well.

Yup, you need to stay with top lever, check-hook barrels or spend BIG money to have hammerless barrels converted.

Hammerless barrels can be fitted to top action hammer guns with a little work, and a lot of work to make them operate properly. So, basically, you are looking for top action hammer gun barrels only.

Twist or Damascus?

Either although I prefer Damascus.

But it's a number3 frame not a number 2.
