Gun Issue

12 ga GH lever returns to center at times when opening and gun will not open at times. This comes and goes with no rhyme or reason I can figure out, gummed up inside or does it sound like something worn? Otherwise gun locks up as it should

Thank you ,

Scott

While I'm not in to the mechanics of the Parker Gun I do have a DHE 20 that does the same thing. I have been told there is a spring for the top lever that needs replacing and it's not a big job to fix.

Scott are you saying the lever sometimes returns to the closed position when the gun is open ? If I am understanding that right, quite possibly the gun is in fact gummed up. There is a latch below the bolt that holds the bolt back while the gun is open, if it's gummed up it won't do its job. Pretty simple fix and that's where I would start.
Good luck, Tom

It does it about half the time, once it failed to open the gun but after dropping the hammers it opened. The lever spring seems strong. Will start with good cleaning of guts.

Thanks

Returning to center would be a trip issue. Not opening could be a couple things. Sounds like a good place to start is a good cleaning.
