DGJ Winter Issue

Those of us who take the Double Gun Journal are in for a real treat ..... another excellent Parker article by "Tool Man" Steve. 14 pages in total, and an easy reading blend of historical research, live bird shooting lore, and details on the featured gun and its owner. Many high quality pics included.

Incidentally this is the DGJ's 25th Anniversary issue and the first article is a nice reminiscence piece by Daniel Cote.

I received mine today Frank. Just haven't had time to sit down with it yet.

Oh, and I'll be sure to read your article in this issue too :smiley7:

Frank,

I really enjoyed reading your article.

Mark

Frank, Both articles by you and toolman are interesting and informative works. Thanks to both of you for investing the time and effort to get the information published.:)

Frank and Steve have outdone themselves. Steve Cambria's article is the best of the best for content, provenance, and color. His research on Frank Stearns was a great example of what we can pull from the PGCA records and la84.com research files.

Nice job guys I enjoyed both articles very much. Franks' interest in the mechanical aspects of vintage double comes through in his articles and Steve's personality and interests come to the surface in technicolor in his creative writing. Thanks Craig

Two great reads; thanks Fellas!

Regarding the excellent article in DGJ on Franklin Stearns and his Parker, does anyone have any information on the Richmond Pigeon Club at Blandon Park or T. W. Tignors and Sons Sporting Goods? I'm a native of Richmond, VA, and I've never heard of either the club or the store.

Bill Murphy 12-17-2014 09:28 AM

The la84.com digital research files have a wealth of information about the goings on at the time. That is where Steve and I started our search for Stearns and the source of the great Parker.
