Parker V grade

Hello Everyone! I am the proud owner of Parker V grade SxS 12 gauge. I bought it in September for $750 and promptly sent it to Keith Karcher, in Bend OR, for a good cleaning, and inspection. Karcher bored my barrels from full choke to Modified and Improved Cylinder. The gun has a clean bill of health and I'm going to hunt it. My question is this- The Parker has the same LOP as my OU but it doesn't come up smooth. I'm having to pull it in tight instead of it just sliding in there. It feels short. Any advice on a SxS shooting differently and does anyone make a spacer plate to go between the walnut and the butt plate. Thanks for all the good info on the forum and I hope I am not duplicating an already asked question.
Regards and Happy Hunting
Josh

Hi Josh - It probably has a lot more 'drop' than your OU. A 'cheek piece' to elevate the comb might be the ticket... or a slip-on pad to lengthen the LOP may be the answer. I've used both but usually just the slip-on pad on a Parker with a lot of 'drop'.
Lay the Parker upside-down on a table with just the bead off the edge and measure the distance from the table surface to the top edge of the buttplate..... now do the same with your OU. I'll bet there is a big difference.

Hmmm maybe. I will check it out when I get home, Thanks! Does any one make a nice looking stick extender specifically for Parker's?

That should say "Stock extender".

Galco leather or the gamekeeper model from Galazans are nice looking leather extenders with a Velcro attachment

Thank you. Ill check them out.
