Parker Shotgun Hammer
I am in need of a right hammer and the matching screw as well as a left side firing pin for a Parker Bros 12 guage shotgun. The pat'd dates range fom 1872 to 1878. Anyone know where I can find them?

What grade Parker, lifter or top lever? Pictures would help a lot Replacement screws and firing pins are available - the hammer may take some searching |
Rick,
The best I can determine it is a GH 2 quality Ser# 34350 mfg date 1883. It has the silver shield on the top of the stock and dog on the butt plate. If this isn't enough information, I'll try to get a picture to you. |
A picture would help a great deal - for style of engraving, etc.

Rick and Dean,
I'll get a picture posted, Bill |
It should be a Quality T 12ga, top action hammer gun with Plain Twist barrels. FYI a GH means it's a "G" grade, the "H" means it's hammerless. Parker wasn't making hammerless guns in 1883.

Chuck,
It is a hammer type and the serial number puts it in 1883. It does have a Damascus Barrel and has pat'd dates ranging from 1872 to 1878. That's what I can get from the gun itself. So anything else would be conjecture on my part. Bill |

This is best picture I could get. Hope it is helpful.
Thanks, |
I only have the order book for this gun. If I had the stock book, I could compaire the two for barrel type. The order book shows Plain Twist. The price was $55.00 which makes it a Quality T (lowest grade). It was sold to a large sporting goods store so I guess it could have been discounted but it usually will show that.
What does the rib inscription read? Are you absolutely sure of the s/n? |
Chuck,
The number 34150 with a 2 over the top is correct. I found the same number on the forearm. The pat'd date is March 16, 1875. The inscription on the barrels is " Parker Bros Makers Meriden Conn Demascus Steel. The pat'd on the barrel is June 25, 1878 and also April 11, 1878. I found a pat't date of Sept 3, 1872 as well. The trigger guard has a pat'd date of March 23, 1875. There is also a silver shield on the stock behind the breach lever and a dog on the butt plate. Hopefully this is enough of the right kind of information you need. Thanks for your help. Bill Huggins |
