Bismuth

Thinking that reloading bismuth for my 16 gauge 2 1/2 hulls in older lighter guns may be the way to go for ducks in order to be sure I have some non tox. I am waiting to hear from RST on the nice shot. The recipe I have for Bismuth is for a 7/8 oz. load from the 16 gauge society spreadsheet. I was wondering if I have to weigh it or if I can use my 7/8oz. MEC charge bar.
Also would like to shoot a one ounce load (or thereabouts) on ducks. If someone has a recipe I would appreciate if they would share it.
Thanks

You are going to have to weigh your bismuth, MEC charge bars are designed for lead and bismuth is lighter. I have found an adjustable charge bar handy for loading bismuth for just this reason. Before I got an adjustable charge bar I had to take a 1 3/8 bar and open it up a little bit with a file to be able to drop a true 1 1/4 ounce of bismuth.
