Blood Stains on Wood

2 Attachment(s)
Following are pictures of what I take to be blood stains in the wood of a newly acquired gun. I have not tried to take them out yet. I do not know how deep the stain penetrated.

Any suggestions from those who have encountered this issue?

Bruce, aged, hardened blood is one of the most difficult stains to remove. I do not know of any solvent that will touch it without also damaging the original finish. Your friend, whom you introduced me to at the Southern (the gentleman with that fine duck call) may know of a solution - or possibly David Trevallion - they are both very experienced stockers.

Bruce we use MEK on a Q-tip followed by dabbing Hydrogen Peroxide. You may need light stain to blend the spot. The top coat is up to you, but oil blends well.

Got it. Thanks Brad. I'll do as you suggested, then stain over with Timberluxe walnut stain then a light topcoat of Timberluxe finish, after an all over cleaning to get any dirt out.
