Found a Parker Trojan for $1000, is it worth the price?

Found me a Trojan, I have been looking for a Parker for a while and found one here in Houston for $1000. Asking price may be a little high, but the place I will be getting it from has a good rep for the guns they sell and go to all the trouble of inspecting the condition and making sure it is safe to shoot before selling. So piece of mind is worth something. anyway here are the pics and the info:

"Parker Brothers Trojan 12 gauge shotgun. Nice hunting gun manufactured in 1921. Barrels are 28” choked modified and full. Black butt plate has small nick at toe. Has original wood and factory checkering. Bore is bright. Gun is in very good condition. Still has some case color on receiver. Has Trojan steel marks on barrel. LOP is 14”. Action and lock up are fine."

Is the description they emailed me and here are the pics.

Here are the rest of the pics. It was made in 1921 and doesn't have the extended rib, but to my inexperienced eye it looks good. Gonna go check it out soon.

The gun looks to be in un molested conditon. Barrels are not cut, stock finish is original and there is a good amount of case color remaining. Good screws too. If bores are also good, I say its a good buy at the money.

He has another parker he also emailed me at lunch today, though for the life of me I can't figure out why it is $500 more.

Parker Brothers Trojan 12 gauge caliber shotgun. Double barrel Field gun with 30” barrels. The barrels have some small spots of pitting near the muzzle. Overall very good condition with tight action and excellent bores. A nice looking American made double shotgun.

They look about equal by way of frame finish. The first one looks to have nicer barrels.

Th first one would be 'money well spent' at twice that price. That is a very lucky find if you were looking for a twelve gauge Parker.

If you have been looking for a smaller bore Parker and are just settling on this one... maybe not so well spent - but that Trojan will do everything you want it to do.

i agree with brian and dean a good looking gun well worth the asking price..its a mighty nice gun it will last you 2 life times and then some if taken care of....charlie

But the first and offer $700 on the second. :)

If this is your first Parker buy it quick and forget it if you love 12 gauge,
but like Dean said if you favor small gauges you might use this later as good trading material, its worth the $1000, the other one pass

12 gauge is definitely what I want. Trojan is what I can afford and I think I will be plenty happy with it. The only 20 I own is my dad's 65 A5.
