I'm awaiting the arrival of a new to me "itis" scratching Trojan and thinking about October when I will introduce her to a couple roosters. And you.......

Just now back in Alaska from Denver and sunshine..... it's below 0 here. Yesterday we did a road trip to the bowels of the mothership.... Cabales in Sydney, NB... then onto Sierra Trading Post in Wyoming. Good trip.. Gorgeous weather.

Now Is The Winter Of Our -- fill in the blanks guys--

The late bonus Goose season ended last Sunday 31 Jan- very "iffy" hereabouts, the usual winter picked corn fields with the decoys and the camo field blinds didn't work well- as many farmers left the best fields with unpicked corn, due to high moisture content last Nov--

So it's the rivers mainly--strange too, as we usually see scaup and buffleheads, but now just common mergansers and some resident mallards. Did many a few "honkers" hunting solo, right place, right time, unfrozen trigger finger etc-- but not a "Banner season" indeed.

So a few pending shoots this month and next- Club shoots for Tower birds and a few DU events- otherwise I'm stripping down and cleaning some double guns for possible parts resale in my Gunner's Den--re-reading favorite books- Buckingham, Gene Hill, Robert Ruark, Mike Mcintosh--and avoiding "cabin fever"--stay well!!:bigbye:

Waiting for Jack to post pictures of the new Trojan. Fooling with the 0 Grade with which I will shoot the Challenge Hammer Gun event with in April.

Sitting here watching the beautiful snowflakes fall.....thinking of that wonderful gift God has for me...smiles....and listening to Mandeesa.

And another thought....since I have been on this web site...I have been impressed by the passion you guys show for your parkers. And I must say that I like it. Thern my mind wonders....do these guys show this much passion for their wives? I have decided that you do and all have fantastic marriages!!! smiles.

Not here yet but I can show this from the on-line ad. I had asked here earlier about the case and learned that the only verified true Parker cases are in the early history and made of wood (oak I think was mentioned). It has been restocked but the price was right. I note that there are a few more than me who think about next season as soon as the current one ends. That may be some syndrome that defies treatment. Will post more detailed images once it arrives. Cheers, Jack

Lee: Life long acquaintance with the family VH and only 42 years with my bride. I was warned about Parkeritis when I first found this forum to resolve an issue with the family gun. I should have run right then. The family gun has five friends safely stored and awaiting the sixth. I'm not collecting more brides. While the one I have has sustained handling marks, that only adds to her character. She is perfect

Destry: Don't wish life away, but when you get there, retirement beats working hands down in every dimension.
