Red Head Recoil Pads
Anybody know much about RED HEAD Brand Recoil Pads mfg in Belmont IL (Chicago). When was there Pat approved and how long they were mfg.?
Info appreciated |
It did find patent info 1937. I have several marked Pat Pending so I guess 1935 might be earliest date mfg.
Any idea how long produced? |
I have a new in box red head pad sitting around here. The box says patent applied for, but the pad itself lists patent number 105358.

Even though the markings on the pads themselves say "Patent No."
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...dHeadpad01.jpg 105,358 is actually a Design No. granted July 20, 1937. Application was filed April 19, 1937. These versions marked TruSport were sold by Edw. K. Tryon in Philadelphia -- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...Sportpad02.jpg There were several boxes of these TruSport/Edw. K. Tryon pads in one of the display cases in the Galazan gun rooms when I visited there after the 2012 Vintage Cup. |
I have a trusport in my collection.

One of my favorites, just because of the duck I suppose. I've got one on my fathers old Steven's double and several more NIB waiting for the right project.
DLH |
I like them too, esp on small guns
